Stoichiometry Numerical Problems

Q.2 which of the following has a larger number of molecules and how? 7g of nitrogen or 1 g of hydrogen.

Wt of nitrogen = 7g

Mol .wt of nitrogen = 28g

No of moles of nitrogen = wt. in gm/mol.wt

                                          = 7/28 = 0.25 mol.

Wt of hydrogen = 1g

Mol .wt of hydrogen = 2g

No. of moles of hydrogen = wt. in gm/mol. Wt

                                            = 1/2  = 0.5 mol

Since the number of moles of hydrogen is greater, there is a larger number of molecules in 1 g of hydrogen.
